All our products list a size – but what does ‘size’ mean for glasses and sunglasses? The size we list is the frame’s lens diameter (in mm): the width of one lens at its widest point.

A frame shouldn’t be too small or too large. A frame that looks big will also feel heavier and might make you feel uncomfortable.

Frames that are too large may also make your eyes look smaller than usual. But our best advice of all – wear what makes you feel good!

General Size Guide:
Narrow → 40-48 mm
Average → 49-54 mm
Wide → 55-58 mm
Oversized → above 58 mm

UV Protection & Polarization

Ultraviolet (UV) eye protection matters! UV radiation from the sun can damage your eyes and contribute to eye problems. To protect your eyes, look for sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays. All Eco sunnies do this!

The color of the lenses and degree of darkness the sunglasses provide don’t affect the frame’s ability to block UV rays. It’s a coating on the lens itself, not the coloring.

Polarization is a special coating on some sun lenses that blocks glare from light reflecting off flat surfaces. It’s really effective when you’re outdoors a lot and are on the road or near water. Polarized sunglasses are great for improving comfort and visibility in strong, intense light.

Our Materials

Eco glasses and sunglasses are all made from sustainable materials.

Castor Seed Oil
Our biobased frames are crafted using castor seed oil. This makes them lightweight, comfortable, and sustainable. The material is even approved as a plant-based, eco-friendly ingredient by the USDA.

Recycled Steel
Our Recycled material comes from 95% recycled stainless steel and has a UL Environment Validation™. The certification confirms that we’re using recycled metal materials.

Recycled Ocean Plastics
Our Ocean frames are created from recycled ocean based plastics, collected by fishermen and local communities with Waste Free Oceans. Because plastic has no place in the ocean!
